The lifeless body of a young man is discovered after an underground gallery collapses. Despite appearances, the scientific analysis is clear: the corpse is that of a man who, had he lived, would now be over 80.

"The Man Who Did Not Exist"A man collapses lifeless on a bus. Covered in blood, the corpse does not bear any wounds. Death could have been caused by an extremely contagious disease.

Death and CompanyThe brother of William, president of the Autism Association that Astrid attends, dies suddenly. The embalmer in charge of his body claims he got up and fled. Raphaëlle is sure he's lying, but the case escalates when a new corpse is discovered.

Maxime Rivière, a friend of Commissioner Bachert, is the victim of a recurring nightmare concerning the murder of the Tibetan monk. Astrid makes the connection with the unsolved murder of the llama Tulku Lingpa, on May 20, 1996, in a monastery in Île-de-France. On their way there, the commissioner, who turns out to be a Buddhist, Raphaëlle, Astrid and Nicolas discover disturbing elements that question the guilt of the perpetrator of the murder, a drug addict who was prowling in the nearby forest. According to Raphaëlle, the crime was committed inside the monastery.

"The Last of the Aztecs"Philippe Desmond, 65, is found dead at home, victim of an Aztec ritual sacrifice. The heart of this former archaeologist turned treasure hunter was extracted from his rib cage and then placed in a sacred urn. Raphaëlle and Astrid then go in search of the victim's adopted son, Necalli Cantu, a young Mexican living hidden in a forest.
