IC takes place in the Aletta Jacobs Hospital in the Intensive Care department. Doctors and nurses are confronted with sick or injured patients who often end up in the department due to an accident or crime. The atmosphere in the department is not always good: doctors and nurses often have divided opinions about the treatment of a patient, try to be better than colleagues and face many dilemmas.
