Overview
In 1629, the young D'Artagnan, a skilled swordsman, travels to Paris with a letter of recommendation from his father to M. de Treville, head of the King's Musketeers, but the letter is snatched from him by Rochefort, an accomplice of Cardinal Richelieu, minister of Louis XIII (1610-1643), who manages the destinies of France. Upon his arrival he makes friends with three musketeers who hide their names calling themselves Athos (the oldest and most thoughtful), Porthos (the strongest and most innocent) and Aramis (who is a priest, but that does not stop him from flirting with the ladies). D'Artagnan joins the King's guard.
