Regina Limantour is an honest young woman who lives with her aunt Bernarda and her sister Doris. Bernarda is a cruel woman who amuses herself by humiliating and mocking Regina, calling her "Poor Miss Limantour." Upon Bernarda's death, Regina is encouraged by Pilar, a woman who has taken a liking to the girl, so that she can improve herself and become what she so desires: a nurse. Regina listens to his advice and finally manages to move forward in her career. She begins to work in a hospital where she will meet a future doctor: Julio Adrián Montesinos, a rich young man with whom she falls in love despite the warnings of her co-workers, since Julio Adrián has a reputation for being irresponsible and a womanizer. However, their love must face many obstacles, the biggest of which is called Greta Torreblanca, an unscrupulous woman who becomes obsessed with Julio Adrián and will do anything to separate him from Regina.
