
Set in an all new Gundam timeline, the story of Iron-Blooded Orphans starts three hundred years after an event called the Calamity War between Earth and Mars. Humanity has since terraformed Mars but many of the now indigenous population want independence from Earth. It's here our protagonists Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka come in. Part of a private security firm called CGS, Orga wants to break free and secure Martian independence but a terrorist group Gjallarhorn has other ideas. It's here where Mikazuki makes the choice to pilot the ancient Gundam Barbatos and potentially help his friend Orga and Mars as a whole.

Orga's team is picked to escort Kudelia, the leader of the Martian independence movement to Earth for a important meeting. While preparations for departure are being made, the base is attacked by Gjallarhorn.

The adults flee when Gjallarhorn attacks, using Mikazuki and the rest as decoys. Orga gathers those who have been left behind and makes the decision to fight back putting a secret plan into action.

Tekkandan's members try to depart the colonies to finally descend to Earthl; someone claims to support the members.

With Gjallarhorn's fleet blocking a path, Tekkandan tries to descend to Earth, but the ensuing battle becomes fierce.

Tekkada will have to accompany Makanai to a parliamentary general session taking place in Edmonton.

As they prepare to return to Edmonton, Tekkadan falls under attack by Gjallarhorn; Orga makes a counterattack.
Exhausted by the repeated battles with Gjallarhorn forces, Tekkadan members are still determined to go to Edmonton.
Tekkadan heads to Edmonton, but the way is blocked by Carta who is seeking a showdown; Mikazuki and the others keep pressing on.

Orga and other members finally reach Edmonton, but are attacked by Gjallarhorn.

A threat appears during the battle between Tekkadan and Gjallarhorn, Mikazuki ends up confronting the new threat alone and makes a discovery.

Space pirates attack Tekkadan as they try to escort Kudelia on an inspection of a halfmetal mine.

Tekkadan fight odd space pirates, but quickly realize they were part of a bigger group.
Deploying all the fighting strength it possibly can, Tekkadan attempts to capture Sandoval Reuters, the leader of the Dawn Horizon Corps. During a hard fight against unequal odds, Gjallarhorn's outer lunar orbit joint fleet Arianrhod also joins the battle.
