An attempt by ARD to extend the crime scene concept to doctors: various institutions now sent not only their own inspectors into the race, but also their own white coats, each of whom brought a bit of local color from their region. Also similar to the crime scene, they aimed not to be glorified medical novel fairy tales, but to describe the doctors' personal and professional conflicts in a realistic and contemporary manner. And like the crime scene, they had a distinctive common opening credit, only with an oscillograph instead of a crosshair. Unlike the crime scene, however, the concept didn't work. They were part of the glut of doctors.
