Banjo Ohkawara is a police inspector who is known to solve many cases, including the most difficult ones. But in actuality, it is private detective Daigoro Tenkaichi who solves these cases. Banjo passively supports Daigoro's brilliant deductions. Helping them is rookie detective Mana Fujii.
A woman has been murdered in hotel in Kaurizawa, and Tenkaichi already has a suspect in mind, but the suspect has iron-clad alibi.
Murder at a tv station gives Tenkaichi a chance to shine in front of the cameras... but as more and more people start dying, Tenkaichi's ratings start to plummet.
Mana uses his vacation days to go to the hot spring. There she befriends a woman who ends up killed later on. Tenkaichi and Okawara use this to go the hot spring themselves and find that this story follows the two-hour murder mystery rules.
