"Love Between Heaven and Earth" is a 21-episode love TV series directed by Wang Weiren, written by Zhou Yan, and starring Wen Zhaolun, Wu Yue, Wang Xingzhi, etc. It premiered in mainland China in 2000. The play is co-produced by mainland China and Hong Kong, and is based on producer Zhou Yan's personal experiences in Hong Kong. The series is set on the eve of Hong Kong's return to China and tells the story of mainland women Meng Jingjing, Qiu Chunhui, and Li Mei's struggles to survive in the modeling industry after moving to Hong Kong. Through their emotional entanglements with businessman Li Shaoxiong, painter Tian Bing and others, the cultural differences and social contradictions between the two places are demonstrated. Meng Jingjing was estranged from her mother due to the mystery of her life experience, and finally resolved the conflict with the help of blood and family ties; Qiu Chunhui obtained Hong Kong identity through a fake marriage, while Li Mei chose to marry an old Hong Kong guest. The story revolves around the competition between three people in Lin's Model Company, and ultimately reveals the emotional connection between the descendants of Yan and Huang across geographical barriers.
