Eleutério bought a strange relic: a little devil placed inside a bottle. He kept it hidden, despite protests – from the maids, the settlers and Nena, his wife. When, however, the wife died after giving birth to the couple's son, it didn't take long for the people to blame that little devil for what happened. And, worse than that, assigning him the paternity of the newborn. The boy grew up and the story was perpetuated. The restless José Eleutério, known as Zeca, earned and lived up to the fame he had since birth. Wherever he arrived, he was considered the “son of the devil”. Zeca fed the people's beliefs and made the story of the devil become a legend. A farmhand with an adventurous spirit, he defied death by riding fighting bulls.
