
Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians centers around Brakebills University, a secret institution specializing in magic. There, amidst an unorthdox education of spellcasting, a group of twenty-something friends soon discover that a magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real - and poses grave danger to humanity.

In the premiere of this drama adapted from Lev Grossman's book series, best friends Quentin and Julia are mysteriously recruited to take an entrance exam to Brakebills University, a secret institution for magical pedagogy.

The Brakebills students struggle to deal with the aftermath of a catastrophe that befalls the university. Back in Brooklyn, Julia makes her first foray into the mysterious world of Hedge Witches.

Penny and Plum travel, not only through space, but time. The not-dead Dark King uses Eliot's body to reassure a long lost love he's not been forgotten.
