
Urbane John Steed and a variety of partners work for an elite organization tasked with investigating criminal and espionage matters within the UK. Their opponents use everything from standard techniques to robots and other science fiction gadgetry.

Dr. David Keel's fiancée Peggy is murdered by a ruthless gang of drug dealers, and he accidentally receives a consignment of heroin. He believes the heroin was sent by the same gang, and seeks revenge with the help of the mysterious John Steed.

However, the Avengers are surprised to encounter Major Ruse, a modern Robin Hood, and his band of ex-servicemen who are exploiting the racket for a worthy cause.
