It premiered on CCTV 8 on January 22, 2009. "Mr. Guandong" is a Northeastern style drama, and it is also a light comedy that promotes patriotic enthusiasm and human warmth. It tells the legendary story of folk artists in Fengtian North Market in the early years of the Republic of China, the female owner of "Quanjude", and the former Qing Dynasty's "Belle", hunting for treasures, "protecting treasures for the country," and fighting against Japanese invading forces and warlords and traitors.
