After reaching rock bottom, failed rock star Andy finds new direction and purpose in his life when he becomes the unlikely charge of nephew Errol.

Having been moved on whilst busking, Andy's day goes from bad to worse when he calls round to Gwen's flat and meets her new boyfriend, Casper. Sam has a meeting with Errol's dad Ben to discuss custody. Andy persuades Errol that, for a variety of reasons, he really should go to Alfie's birthday party. At the party, Andy meets old school friend Shelley, but gets bullied by Alfie's dad, Tom. Things go horribly wrong and Andy, Errol, Bruce and Tiffany have to make a run for it.

Sam is mortified when Errol catches her in an embarrassing position, while Andy is horrified when Val Pearson catches him spying outside his club. Andy holds auditions for his new band so he can enter the Battle of the Bands competition at Val's club, meaning he can spend quality time with Gwen. Errol and Andy have a man-to-man chat about the opposite sex, and Sam goes on a string of disastrous dates. Andy escorts Errol when he takes Ruby on a date, and bumps into Melodie. Andy recruits a surprise new band member and they play at Battle of the Bands.

Errol's paternal grandmother Joan is hosting a family lunch and Sam ropes Andy into coming along for moral support. Unfortunately it's just as Errol's 'cool uncle' Rex arrives home on holiday, and Andy embarks on a competition to win Errol's sole affections. Sam and Ben hit a snag in their custody battle, someone's got a crush on Errol, and Andy doesn't know how to deal with Joan after she reminds him of 'that night'. The scene is set for a delightfully tense day at grandmother's house.

While Sam is attempting to attract a cool new sponsor and Errol is away on a school trip, Andy is trying to break up with Shelly, make up with Gwen and woo Errol's teacher Melodie. But can Andy really juggle three women? With Errol on the phone trying to be his conscience, Andy takes things to farcical extremes to try to have his cake and eat it too.

While Sam is away on a tree-hugging retreat, Andy and Errol are offered the opportunity of a lifetime - to sign with Rage Records and infamous music producer Mo Kahn. Little does Andy know that Mo is only interested in the kid and Errol hasn't worked out how to break the bad news. When a series of seemingly innocuous events puts Errol in mortal danger and the whole custody case in dire jeopardy, can irresponsible screw-up Andy finally make it right?

It's been a year, and Errol can't pluck up the courage to ask Ben to drop the restraining order. Sam, now a therapist, is flummoxed by her new client and Andy, stuck in a dead-end job, hasn't written a song this whole time. Andy and Errol have to sneak around just to spend time together. Can they help each other conquer their fears and get unblocked? Or will the demons of old leave them permanently stuck?

Andy wants his latest fling to think he's mature, Errol wants to show a girl he's cool and Sam wants Ben's girlfriend Veronica to love her. And to put their best foot forward, all they'll have to do is lie through their teeth. What could go wrong?

Andy is wrecked with the flu, but when Errol alerts him to a lucrative song contest, it's off to the recording studio. When Andy suddenly refuses to collaborate, Errol endeavours to sabotage the recording. Now with Sam constantly asking for sex advice, the clock ticking and inspiration running low, Andy's going to need a genius idea and the help of a few surprising allies if he hopes to get the track recorded in time.

When Sam ropes Andy into chaperoning Errol's Halloween school dance, the family makes a joint oath to stay out of trouble. But that might prove difficult when Andy and Melodie get locked in a storeroom together by an old enemy who also wants to thwart Errol's plans to get his first kiss. Meanwhile, Sam's plans to behave look dubious when Bruce's ex Claire makes a surprise appearance. Things are going to get scary.

Andy's desperate for cash to pay his rent, so when he hears his estranged Uncle Frank is dying, he thinks it's his chance to get in the will. Without Sam's knowledge, Andy takes Errol to Frank's cabin for an unforgettable family reunion.

Suffering a string of bad news and on the verge of eviction, Andy receives a surprise cheque in the mail. Now all he needs to do is cash it and pay his landlord in the next three hours, while keeping Errol busy as Sam plans a surprise birthday party. But the universe might have other ideas.

It's eighteen months since Andy found out that he was going to be a father, and the baby he's never met is haunting his nightmares. But is he ready to be a dad? And why do people count baby ages in months anyway? As he tries to work up the nerve to confront Teresa about their child, he's distracted by an offer from a record company executive that puts his artistic integrity to the test and makes him think about what really matters. Meanwhile Errol butts heads with Bruce as he figures out how to live under the same roof as his mum's new partner and Sam contemplates motherhood.

Andy makes a start on his new career, but finds songwriting for a boy band more difficult than he'd imagined. Is he past it?Worried his new job may be over before it's started, he takes Errol to work for moral support. But Errol has more than just music on his mind. Now 15, his hormones are raging and he concludes that he needs to find a girlfriend - but things soon get competitive when he and Uncle Andy vie for the attentions of Lex.

Andy stumbles into a drug-fuelled whirlwind romance with singer Jasmine and suddenly finds himself engaged. Errol lets a girl think he is 'experienced' in an attempt to look cool, and Sam has to find a way of telling the family some life-changing news.Unfortunately, Bruce's mother and brother are coming to visit and everyone is struggling with whether to clear the air or hold on to their secrets. It isn't long before the lies spin out of control and Andy has to face up to some hard truths for the first time in his life.

Andy struggles to shut off his feelings. Errol struggles to let his in. Sam's life hangs in the balance. An impressionistic exploration of grief.

Andy and Sam's chaotic parents, Neville and Jane, visit from Spain and announce they are getting a divorce. While Sam obsesses on the fact her mother still doesn't pay her attention, Andy schemes ways to keep his parents together in an attempt to prove he can make any relationship work. And Errol decides to play Ben and Bruce off each other to buy him a trip to Europe. Who will win the manipulation game?

When Melodie shows up at Andy's flat they finally hash it out and confess their feelings for each other. But, after a night of bliss, Melodie is gone.Meanwhile, in his fantasy writing class, Errol spins a fantastical tale of Andy, now cast as a stable boy on a noble quest to find his long lost princess.With the help of a young stable master Errol, the boys will encounter a slew of odd but familiar faces in this fantasy retelling of Uncle, and possibly help the real Andy get to the bottom of how he can win Melodie back.

When Andy's offered the opportunity of a lifetime it might mean the end of Errol and Andy's relationship as we know it.
