Overview
"A Girl Is Afraid of Marrying the Wrong Man" tells the story of Lan Yue (played by Yan Xuejing), a beautiful country daughter-in-law, who missed love when she was young and married an unruly and alcoholic husband Lang Dashu (played by Zhao Jun). The two failed to run a pig farm, and Lang Dashu went to the city to do business. He was defrauded of funds by his middle school classmate Qu Ping in the name of jointly opening a mobile phone store, and he was saddled with a legal debt of 450,000. Under this situation, Lan Yue's family advocates that Lan Yue divorce Lang Dashu and marry her former lover, rural teacher Dong Jialiang (played by Zhang Yilong). Especially Lan Yue's younger brother Lan Tian is more supportive of her sister's divorce and wants her to marry the local wealthy boss Qi. Lan Yue originally intended to divorce, but her mother-in-law fell ill and her husband became paralyzed after going into debt.
