In 1942, the Anti-Japanese War entered a critical stage. The Japanese army in eastern Zhejiang used the occupied ports to continuously transport supplies to the Japanese mainland. The East Zhejiang Column of the New Fourth Army active in this area aimed to destroy the Japanese army's lines of communication and attack the Japanese army. It was decided to establish a secret liaison station in Jiahai County between Ningbo and Zhoushan. After careful selection, the column commander dispatched Ningzhou detachment reconnaissance captain Lu Agen to Jiahai to establish a liaison station. Lu Agen chose the Donghai Inn opened by his aunt Yu Zhang. Amidst the sound of firecrackers, Donghai Inn reopened. The Japanese garrison commander of Jiahai, Osaka Suzuki, had always been at odds with Saito, Lieutenant Commander Saito, the head of the Japanese military's Jiahai branch. Liu Yeming actively defected to Suzuki, while Lai Jiashan followed Saito wholeheartedly. The two groups fought openly and secretly. Martial arts captain Xiaohe, military agent Jiang Meimei, Japanese spy Hyacinth, and agent Haikui all gathered in Jiahai, each using their own strategies and fighting openly and secretly. One day, Saito learned that the underground party of the Chinese Communist Party was going to have a meeting at the Donghai Inn, so he deployed heavy troops to round them up, and a life-and-death battle began. At the critical moment, Xu Zhefeng led the New Fourth Army reconnaissance team to annihilate the Japanese and puppet troops. The personnel of Donghai Inn evacuated Jiahai and started a new battle.
