Overview
In the 1930s, Shanghai was in a turbulent period of undercurrents and mixed fortunes. The Japanese invaders, the Kuomintang, the Communist Party, and the gangs all gathered here, each writing a legendary history. Lan Xinru (played by Hai Qing), a surgeon who works at Gongji Hospital, has no interest in politics and is indifferent to the world. On the contrary, Xinru's boyfriend Liu Tianshu (played by Wu Xiubo) and hospital colleague Qi Yuzhen (played by Li Wenjie) are special agents and underground party members deployed by our party in Shanghai respectively. An accident caused Tianshu to rebel and surrender to the enemy. As a result, the underground party stronghold was raided by the Kuomintang. Qi Yuzhen also died in this incident. Taking this as an opportunity, Xinru accidentally became a member of the underground party. In order to find the missing list and protect the lives of more than a dozen underground party comrades, she started a series of struggles with her lover Tianshu, and also staged a love, resentment and hatred that could not be let go...
