The battle between the Hatfields and McCoys is probably the most famous family feud in American history. Bad blood remains between the families more than a century later. But now the two clans are trying to put the past behind them and come together as the families' descendents have an opportunity that could rewrite history ... or keep their hatred going even longer. With moonshine legal in West Virginia, a liquor executive approaches Jim Quick, a maternal descendent of Randall McCoy, to propose a business partnership with the Hatfields to create a Hatfield and McCoy moonshine. The partnership would require Quick to work with Mark Hatfield, the great-great-great grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield, and the families to share their secret moonshine recipes with each other. This docuseries follows the families as they try to work together in a project that could net them millions.

With the changing of West Virginia Law, making and selling Moonshine has become legal and a big city Liquor Executive has been approaching members of the infamous Hatfield and McCoy clans looking to launch a new Moonshine Brand. Meanwhile, kin of Devil Anse Hatfield and Randall McCoy, are still squabbling after 150 years. Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy get into a little tussle about who's moonshine is stronger and decide to settle the score by racing classic cars powered by their own brews.

Moonshine, coal and timber are still the best ways to make a living in the Tug River Valley, so it's no surprise that both Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy want this moonshine liquor deal. In Kentucky, Jim is hosting a good ole' McCoy Hoedown to seal the deal with big liquor exec Monsell Darville. While in West Virginia, Mark Hatfield is throwing one of his legendary Bonfires to woo that liquor exec away from the McCoys. With the lucrative deal on the table, both Jim and Mark hope their shine will impresses Monsell enough to win the deal.

The Hatfields and McCoys are in agreement for a change...they want nothing to do with each other or that big city liquor investor. Each family has decided to go out on their own and make their own legal moonshine. Problem is they still need to find the money to make it happen and of course make more of their product. Meanwhile, Jim McCoy is having some trouble with his lead foot mamma. Mama Irene is speeding around town in her Mustang and getting in trouble with the law.

Scotty May Hatfield and Mickey McCoy join forces and are determined to get their families together to make this Moonshine deal happen with big liquor exec Monsell. If only Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy can keep from fighting again. Meanwhile, James McCoy's has decided to test his family's DNA for a rage gene as his latest science experiment.

Jim McCoy and Mark Hatfield come to terms with liquor investor Monsell for a HatField & McCoy White Lightning. With the deal made, money advances given and promises made...Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy now need to come through with the ancestral waters and a location for their Distillery before they can make one drop of the Hatfield & McCoy Moonshine.

With the lease on the building already signed, Jim McCoy and Mark Hatfield have no choice but to start demolition on the new Hatfield and McCoy Distillery. Meanwhile, Jim and Mark entrust Scotty May to build the industrial sized still they will need to start makin' Moonshine.

With the clock ticking and Liquor Investor Monsell expecting a taste of Hatfield and McCoy Moonshine, Mark Hatfield frantically tries to replace the Still that Scotty May blew up. Meanwhile a frustrated Jim McCoy reaches out to John T. Hatfield about using his Still and cutting Mark out of the deal all together. Back in Kentucky, Mamaw Irene has a new weapon (toy) to keep the McCoy boys in line.

John and James McCoy hatch a plan to help both families and the Distillery get their Liquor Investor Monsell a taste of the Hatfield & McCoy Moonshine he's been waiting on. While John and James are busy building the much needed Still, they enlist a Hatfield to retrieve Devil Anse's secret Moonshine Recipe.

Liquor Investor Monsell is expecting a batch of Hatfields and McCoys Moonshine, but with no still, no recipe and no Hatfields, Jim McCoy had no choice but to lock the doors of the distillery. Now Jim's looking to get his frustrations out at the Annual Hatfield and McCoy Tug of War...only problem is that Mark and all the Hatfields are planning to boycott.

With the Moonshine Still ready to go but no liquor investor, Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy decide to work together and make Moonshine. First order of business is to get the proper licenses and of course the water. Meanwhile Liquor Investor Monsell tries to do business with other Hatfields and McCoys in the area and a paranoid Scotty May thinks the law is after him.

When both Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy refuse to share the family moonshine recipes Granny Billy and Mamaw Irene take matters into their own hands and enlist Scotty May and Mickey to retrieve the prized recipes. A concerned Monsell travels to West Virgina to check in on his investment, only to be given the run around by Courtney, John and James McCoy.

Now that there is a combined Hatfield and McCoy Moonshine recipe, Jim McCoy and Mark Hatfield get down to the business of makin' moonshine. But when there's a problem with the still, Jim and Mark are forced to find an alternate way to make the shine, so their liquor investor Monsell can have his much anticipated first taste.

Mark Hatfield and Jim McCoy challenge each other to a shoot out to see who is the better marksman and most importantly who will pay for the door Scotty May ran into with a truck. Meanwhile, Mamaw Irene and Granny Billie have a shoot out of their own.

The families organize a special Hatfield & McCoy Demolition Derby to promote the Grand Opening of the Hatfield and McCoy Distillery. Meanwhile, Mark and Jim are shocked to find themselves locked out and served with an eviction notice from their new landlord. Leaving everyone to wonder if this Grand Opening is really going to happen?
