The second season of Project Runway starts off with a look at the casting process that lands 14 contestants a chance to become the next great American fashion designer. A week before arriving in Manhattan, 16 semifinalists are given 6 yards of plain white fabric and $20 to create an outfit that best represents who they are as a fashion designer. On arrival in New York, the designers quickly size each other up before they're told to have their models ready for the first runway competition - in just two hours! The stress and anxiety of the tight timeline eats at each of them but especially Season 1's Daniel Franco, who has returned for vindication. After the show, the judges ask the contestants to defend their designs. In the end, two are sent packing, and the final 14 cast members are in place.

Heidi invites the designers to a party to congratulate them for making it and tells them that Tim Gunn will be there to deliver their first challenge. Before the party, the contestants move into their apartments and discover their new roommates before preparing for the evening's festivities. At the party, they learn the details of their challenge - they must design an outfit using only the clothes off their backs. Some are not as excited to redesign their cherished pieces as others, and one designer refuses to incorporate an article she wore to the party into her design. Later on the runway, the designers are questioned on their use of innovation and one hopeful is ousted from the competition.

The contestants are left puzzled when they're told their next challenge will be designing for one of fashion's most important and stylish icons. They're taken on a field trip to meet the fashion luminary and discover. it's Barbie. Their job is to create a life-sized outfit for the Barbie "My Scene" collection. A day into the challenge, the designers are shocked to discover they must also create a miniature version for the doll. But the extra work has a reward - the winning designer will have their outfit manufactured and sold as part of the "My Scene" line. During the runway show, the judges critique the designers on their vision, and in the end one must go home.

The designers must create a lingerie line consisting of 3 looks. Each designer is given the opportunity to pitch Heidi on their vision and she picks 4 of them to move forward with their line. These 4 designers pick teams from the remaining contestants and begin creating their lingerie lines. Sparks fly in the workroom as tensions between designers reach an all time high. In the most dramatic elimination yet, one designer is sent home from the competition in an emotional farewell.

Fashion maven and socialite Nicky Hilton employs the services of the Project Runway designers to make her a party dress. Nicky gives them a day and a half to complete their work and invites them to a trunk-show soiree so that she can check out their dresses. Everyone scrambles to finish and ready themselves for the party where Nicky sizes up their work as well as their social skills. The next day on the runway she bestows her seal of approval on the winner and another designer is sent home.

The designers must make a "day to evening" ensemble for Banana Republic. To do this they are split into teams of two. Working together proves difficult for some of the teams as the designers vie over creative control of the garment. The day of the runway show is filled with surprise when the teams are asked to design window displays for their outfits. Banana Republic customers vote to determine the winning design and later on the runway, one team is sent home in a dramatic double elimination.

The designers are asked to create an ice skating outfit for Olympic figure skater, Sasha Cohen. Before beginning the design process Sasha treats them to figure skating lessons and the designers strut their stuff on the ice. Later in the workroom, tension builds as the designers are openly critical about each other's work. On the runway, one of the designers is put on the line for going way "over the top" and Sasha picks the winner, agreeing to wear their outfit in a future competition.

The designers are invited to the showroom of Fashion Designer Michael Kors. He talks about the importance of inspiration, hands them digital cameras and tells them to hit the streets of Manhattan to take pictures of the things that inspire them. Later, they must choose 1 of their pictures as the inspiration for a garment. In the workroom, some designers seem more inspired than others who struggle to realize their vision. On the runway, the contestants are surprised to discover Season 1's Jay McCarroll as the Guest Judge. Jay helps crown the winner and one designer is sent home.

The contestants are asked to design a "Garden Party" dress. The morning of the challenge Tim Gunn takes them on a field trip to Manhattan's Flower District where they discover they must construct their garments using plants and flowers. They are given an hour to shop and then return to the workroom to begin the painstaking work of making their dresses. Racing against the clock, the designers create an array of stunning work, making it a difficult decision for the judges on the runway. Still, one designer comes out on top and one is sent home, but just barely.

The designers are asked to give each other head-to-toe makeovers. Each designer is randomly assigned to another designer and they begin the process of reinventing each other's looks. Make-up and styling figure prominently into the makeover and to help with this, the contestants are given the services of world-renowned make-up artist Collier Strong. In the end, some designers are thrilled with their new look while others are left scratching their heads. One emerges as the winner and one must return to the workroom to pack.

The designers must create a red carpet dress that represents the collection they plan to show at Olympus Fashion Week. With 4 designers left and only 3 spots open for Fashion Week, the competition is fierce. It becomes even fiercer when the designers discover that fashion icon Iman will be the Guest Judge and has agreed to wear the winning dress to a red carpet event. On the runway, each designer makes their final case about why they should move on to Olympus Fashion Week. But in the end, there's only room for 3 and one of them must go home.

All of the designers gather for a reunion hosted by Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum on the eve of New York Fashion Week at which the final three designers will display their collections.

Tim Gunn visits the homes of the final three designers, Daniel V., Santino and Chloe and checks in on the progress of their Fashion Week collections. Later, the finalists return to New York to prepare their collections for showing at New York Fashion Week and are surprised to find they must complete one final challenge: an additional garment that they each design with the aid of one eliminated designer of their choice.

Finalists Chloe Dao, Daniel Vosovic, and Santino Rice display their final collections of thirteen pieces at New York Fashion Week. After they show their final collections, the judges determine who is the next great fashion designer.

Fifteen new designers arrive to kick off Season 3. After a champagne toast, the challenges begin.   In the first challenge, the source for design is the contents of each designers' Atlas apartment. Designers are given 15 minutes to raid their apartments. They may only use the contents of their own apartment--but they may use any of it (and none of things they brought with them). The first designer is eliminated.

The designers are told that the next Challenge will be to create a dress for an "American Beauty". Miss USA, Tara Conner, is revealed - and it's also announced that she will wear the winning design in the next Miss Universe pageant. Designers pitch their vision to Conner, seven finalists then lead the design and the seven remaining designers pair off with team leaders to create the garments. Conner chooses the winner, and the second contestant is eliminated by the judges.

The designers are told that they will make a creation for an accessory. Transported to Central Park, Tim Gunn reveals their inspiration: dogs!   Each designer chooses their muse, and then designs an outfit for the owner they imagine the dog would have, as well as for the dog itself. The third contestant is eliminated from the show.

The designers create a look for Macy's...and one of them gets kicked off.

The show begins with a twist: the models choose their designers. After that, the models continue to drive the challenge as each one chooses a Fashion Icon for their designer must create a look for.

In "Waste Not, Want Not" the designers are led to a Waste Management recycling plant in northern New Jersey for an innovation challenge. Once there, they have 30 minutes to source all their materials for the next design. Elements include paper products, mylar, bottle caps and more.

Eight designers remain. Heidi tells the designers they will be creating a look for an "everyday woman," and they are shocked to discover that the models are their mothers and sisters. The twist: Designers will not be able to work with their own family member, but must choose someone else as their model. In the end, one designer is eliminated and seven remain.

The designers are told they will need to create an outfit for an international jet-setter. The twist: They will be that jet-setter. Designers are the models this week. After a review on the runway, Heidi informs the designers that the final test will be how their creations travel. They hurry back to the apartments where they find airplane tickets. Once at the airport, the destination of Paris is revealed. In Paris, the ensembles are reviewed by guest judge Catherine Malandrino. In the end, one designer goes home. Six remain.

The designers are in Paris for this challenge. They are asked to make a couture gown that will be judged by Catherine Malandrino. Designers have two days for the challenge. The challenge ends with the designers returning with their gowns for a second judging on the Runway in New York. One designer is eliminated.

The designers are told they will have two surprise guests. A twist is revealed, when previously auf'd designers Angela and Vincent appear. In this Challenge, any designer that won a previous Challenge is brought back to compete again. (Keith would have come back, but was ineligible). Designers are asked to design a cocktail dress in a black and white palette, and they must use all of the fabric that they purchase. In the end, three designers are eliminated from the Runway.

Four designers remain. The winner will go to Olympus Fashion Week, and Heidi announces that they are not committed to taking three contestants to Fashion Week this season. The designers are asked to design one signature piece that represents their point of view as a designer. They also must choose three adjectives to describe their design style. In addition, the winning design will be featured in Elle magazine. In the end, it is determined which designers will go to Fashion Week as finalists in Project Runway.

The Season 3 cast is reunited to discuss the drama from the competition. There are now four finalists. Also, one designer wins the first "Fan Favorite" award -- and a check for $10,000.

The first part of the two-part finale to Season 3. The four final designers are Uli, Laura, Michael and Jeffrey. Tim Gunn visits each designer in their homes to find out how their work is progressing before the final runway show.

It's the finale! The final four designers -- Uli, Jeffrey, Laura, and Michael -- are all set to show at Olympus Fashion Week at Bryant Park. But there's a problem. Laura had previously brought concerns to the producers that Jeffrey may have had outside help on his garments. After looking into the allegations, however, Tim Gunn and the producers find no merit to the accusations. But Jeffrey's receipts are not completely in order, and he has gone over budget by a few hundred dollars. He is allowed to show his collection at Fashion Week, provided that he removes the couple of items that would have pushed his budget over the $8,000 limit. The Final Four head into Olympus Fashion Week for a fabulous showdown on the runway. But only one of them can take home the prize. Who will be in, and who will be out? Who will win Project Runway season 3? Jeffrey Sebelia wins. Congratulations!

In the Season 4 premiere episode, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn meet the anxious group of contestants in New York City's Bryant Park, the very spot this season's finalists will showcase their final collection at the end of the Project Runway journey. This highly talented and established group of designers have a limited amount of time to scramble for luxurious fabrics to work with and there are no parameters to this challenge besides wowing the judges and showing what they are made of -- any designer's dream. The designers immediately head to the workroom to start creating their first design. When they line up on the runway, top eveningwear and bridal designer, Monique Lhuillier, joins Klum, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia, on the judging panel as they decide who will be "in" and who will be "out."

The designers are visited by a surprise guest judge. Speculation runs rampant -- from Snow White to Madonna -- until fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker enters the work room. The designers are charged with pairing off and creating a look based on the "BITTEN" line, clothes for women of various shapes, ages, and sizes. As the designers are paired off, both the talents and the quirks of each come staggeringly close to colliding. In the end, Sarah Jessica chooses Victorya's design to be a part of her line, and Marion's design, with it's growing fabric, cannot be saved by Steven's quick thinking.

In a Project Runway first, the designers are asked to design menswear for football great Tiki Barber. A gaggle of male models invade the workroom and flummox most every designer. But the challenge proves terribly difficult. Some designers have never sketched menswear, and most are having trouble with the patterns. As each look walks down the runway, some looks are exceptional, and some are not finished. In the end, Jack's classic dress shirt and pants win the challenge, but Carmen's time-constraints prove to be her downfall.

The remaining designers must split up into teams to participate in a battle involving major fashion faux pas.

The designers are asked to re-style the outfits of 12 women, all of whom have lost a significant amount of weight. Standing on the runway in clothes that are much too big, the woman are paired off with a designer.   All is going well, until Jack reveals that he has developed a staph infection in his face, and must leave the competition. The shell-shocked designers are discombobulated further by news that previously-auf'd designer Chris March will return to the competition.   In the end, Christian's two-piece design wins the competition, while Steven goes home for "turning a wedding dress into a funeral dress."

This week brought the designers to the Hershey's flagship store in Time Square, New York. Tim told the designers that they would have five minutes to grab whatever they could as raw materials.   Back in the workroom, the designers had the freedom to create whatever look they wanted with the delectable treats. Only Jillian opted to create an edible ensemble, which turned out to be a harder task than anticipated. While she worried about time, Christian, once again, finished early and proceeded to, um, help others. Some designers, like Kevin, didn't find him so helpful, while Sweet P changed her look almost completely.   In the end, Jillian did finish and ended up with one of the best designs of the challenge. But the win went to Rami, who impressed guest judge Zac Posen, while Elisa's "macabre" dress sent her home.

Project Runway went back to high school this week as the designers helped their student models get ready for prom -- one of the most important nights in a girl's life, as Heidi says. All of the designers had to work with their teen clients -- and clients' mothers -- on their concepts, and while most didn't have a problem, Christian found his client to be rather difficult, and let the judges know.   Other designers, like Rami and Ricki, may have been confident in their designs, but the judges weren't too keen on them. In the end, Christian's inability to take charge put him in the bottom two, but the judges found that Kevin's too-mature red dress should send him home instead.   The judges, including guest judge Gilles Mendel, found Victorya's short blue sheath and Sweet P's long champagne ensemble the most appropriate, and the win went to Victorya.

This week, the models took a trip to the salon before being matched up with the designers. Heidi charged the designers with creating avant-garde designs inspired by their models' hairstyles. Back in the workroom, Tim informed the designers that they would be working in teams of two: Chris and Christian; Kit and Ricky; Victorya and Jillian; and Rami and Sweet P. The designers also had to decide whose model they would use. While Victorya and Jillian worried about time, Rami and Sweet P worried about each other's work methods. In the midst of all the hoopla, Tim broke the bad news to the designers: They would need to make a second garment -- a ready-to-wear design that expresses the essence of the avant-garde design. In the end, the judges, including guest judge Alberta Ferretti were impressed with "Team Fierce," comprised of Christian and Chris, and Victorya and Jillian.   While Sweet P's ready-to-wear garment got positive reviews, the judges were disappointed with Rami's avant-garde look. However, neither of Kit and Ricky's designs dazzled the judges, sending team leader Kit home.

This week, Tim Gunn took the remaining designers on a field trip where they were faced with clothesline upon clothesline of Levi's denim. Their challenge? To create an iconic denim look that captures the spirit of the 501 legacy. Some designers, like Ricky, went immediately for the dark washes, and others, like Jillian, grabbed the lighter washes.   During judging, the judges, including Levi's SVP of Design Caroline Calvin, were impressed with Ricky, Rami, Sweet P, and Christian's iconic looks, sending Jillian and Victorya into the bottom two. While both female designers made coats, Jillian prevailed, sending Victorya home. Ricky won the challenge, but, for the first challenge of the season, no immunity.

This week, Tim took the designers on another field trip -- this time to ... another floor in their building! Behind closed doors, the designers heard, um, moaning, which was revealed to be coming out of the mouths of the WWE Divas!   This week's challenge was to create an outfit for the WWE Divas to wear in the ring. While some designers, like Chris, obviously, had a field day, others, like Sweet P found the challenge more, well, challenging.   In the end Chris' leopard-print ensemble wowed the judges, including guest judges Heatherette's Richie Rich and Traver Rains. And Ricky's bathing suit-style costume got him auf'd.

This week's episode was quite the roller coaster for the five remaining designers -- all competing for the change to compete at Bryant Park.   First, the designers went on yet another field trip, meeting Tim Gunn at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Once there, the designers had had to choose an inspirational piece from one of three wings -- the Greek and Roman Sculpture courtyard, the European Painting wing, or the Temple of Dendur -- and create a look of their choice. While Rami, somewhat predictably, chose a sculpture of Aphrodite housed in the courtyard, all of the other designers chose various works from the European Painting wing. In the end, Christian's androgynous take on a Spanish painting wowed the judges, including guest judge Robert Cavalli. Jillian's ready-to-wear take on "Master of the Argonauts" also won high praise and a spot in the finale.   In a Runway first, both Rami and Chris advanced, having to create final collections to be judged before competing in the finale. And unfortunately Sweet P was sent home, just shy of competing at Fashion Week.

This week, all 15 Season 4 designers returned for a reunion filled with laughter (Michael Kors) and tears (Jack, Ricky, ... everyone).   Each designer revealed who they think will win Project Runway, and America revealed their Fan Favorite ... Christian. Season 3 Fan Favorite Mychael Knight made a cameo, presenting Christian with a check for $10,000.

The pressure was really on this week as Chris and Rami duked it out for the final spot in the final three. First, Tim traveled from coast to coast to visit the four remaining designers as they worked on their final collections. He not only saw where the designers lived and worked, he also met their friends.   Finally, all of the designers reconvened back in Manhattan. It was time for Chris and Rami to show their three strongest pieces to the judges. Chris got Christians' help for final touch-ups, while Jillian assisted Rami. Though both designers got their props and criticism from the judges, probably most note-worthy was Rami's increased use of construction and Chris's use of human hair to trim his pieces.   In the end, the judges made their decision and Chris was sent home.

What an end to another innovative and exciting season of Project Runway. This week, it was down to the final three designers -- Jillian, Rami, and Christian.   First, all three had to do a model casting for the show at Bryant Park. While Rami and Christian were happy with their choices, Jillian was nervous about hers and asked if she could replace one model. She was told by the agency that there was no time, and while she focused on the negative for a bit, she finally snapped out of it. After critiques from Tim and final preparations, the three finalists headed to Bryant Park for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There they were met by a full tent of spectators, including guest judge Victoria Beckham.   In the end, while all the designers showed spectacular work, it was 21-year-old Christian Siriano who took home the title and the prizes.

The 16 new designers are introduced and their first challenge: making clothing out of unusual sources.

The contestants are forced to expand and purify their thinking by "going green" with the help of their models.

The sights, sounds and styles of New York City serve as the designers' inspiration. Sandra Bernhard is the guest judge.

The designers must create a sports-themed outfit. Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno is the guest judge.

Brooke Shields is the guest judge in a challenge that requires the designers to create a day-to-night look for professional women.

RuPaul is the guest judge in a challenge that tasks the designers to create flamboyant attire for drag queens.

The designers create clothes using various car parts. Stylist Rachel Zoe and Season 3 contestant Laura Bennett serve as guest judges.

The designers must create looks inspired by fashion icon and guest judge Diane von Furstenberg's fall line. The contestants must also base their creations on the 1948 film "A Foreign Affair." Fashion figure Fern Mallis serves as guest judge.

The designers reach for the stars when they create clothes based on astrological signs. Designer Francisco Costa is the guest judge.

The contestants fashion clothes for college women, helping them make a smooth transition from cool-school style to working-world sophistication. Designer Cynthia Rowley is the guest judge.

Rapper-actor LL Cool J is on hand as the guest judge when the designers try to hit all the right notes in a music-themed challenge.

In a nature-themed undertaking, the remaining designers take a jaunt to the great outdoors to draw inspiration. But will they see the forest for the trees?

The series begins to sew up its fifth season with Part 1 of the two-part finale, in which the remaining contestants prepare to showcase their designs at New York's Fashion Week.

The final designers are on pins and needles as the winning contestant is revealed in the conclusion of the Season 5 finale. Tim Gunn serves as the guest judge.

The designers created a dress for a red carpet event, focusing on making a statement about who they are as a designer. Christopher was the winner of the challenge and Ari was the first designer to be eliminated. Guest Judge: Lindsay Lohan.

The designers were taken to the beach, where they were asked to create a fun, surfer-inspired outfit (with an avant-garde companion piece), and were placed in teams of two. Guest Judge: Rachel Bilson.

The designers were challenged to create party dresses for their surprise clients: the thirteen remaining models. Guest Judges: Marc Bouwer, Zoe Glassner and Jennifer Rade.

The designers were taken to the Los Angeles Times, and were challenged to create an unconventional outfit made out of newspaper. Irina won the challenge and Johnny was eliminated. Guest Judges: Tommy Hilfiger and Eva Longoria Parker.

Designers were challenged to create a look inspired by different movie genres. Guest Judges: John Varvatos, Zoe Glassner and Arianne Phillips.

The designers were challenged to work in pairs to create 2 blue garments for the Macy's, Inc. line. The winner of this challenge would not receive immunity, but would instead, make a holiday dress to be sold in select Macy's stores nationwide and on Macy's.com. Guest Judges: Zanna Roberts and Martine Reardon.

Designers were asked to reconstruct a divorcee's wedding gown and turn it into a new, fashionable outfit. Guest Judges: Zanna Roberts and Tamara Mellon.

The designers must create extravagant stage looks for Christina Aguilera, using the work of legendary fashion and costume designer Bob Mackie as inspiration.

For this challenge, the designers took a field trip to the Michael Kors boutique, where Kors explained that they would be drawing inspiration from seven select locales around the world. Guest Judge: Milla Jovovich.

The remaining designers were asked to create a companion piece from their winning look. Guest Judges: Nick Verreos and Kerry Washington.

The five remaining designers were asked to create a look inspired by the Los Angeles, Getty Center. Guest Judges: Cynthia Rowley and Cindy Crawford.

For part 1 of the finale, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn sent the remaining contestants home to create a 12-piece collection. Tim Gunn visits each designer to critique their collections and meet their families. Later, when the designers have arrived in NYC for Fashion Week, Carol Hannah becomes very ill with a stomach virus. The three designers are given one final challenge, to create one more piece for their collections.

Part two of the finale shows the designers showing their collections at Fashion Week in New York City. Guest Judge: Suzy Menkes.

The designers size up the new competition when they meet up for the quintessential rooftop toast with Heidi and Tim in New York. Tim presents the designers with their challenge during a field trip to New Yorks Central Park. The pressure is on as the designers must work against the clock to wow Heidi, Michael, Nina and a special celebrity guest judge, Nicole Richie.

The designers are taken out of the city and onto a farm where they are put to the test on how innovative they can be when presented with an unusual fabric choice that leaves some designers 'exposed? for elimination.

The designers butt heads when they have to work in teams of two. As personalities clash in the workroom, tensions come to a head on the runway.

In this episode, the designers' challenge was to create a signature dress for the Campbell's AdDRESS Your Heart program.

The designers meet Marie Claire's editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles for their BIGGEST challenge yet when they are told they are to create designs that epitomize the Marie Claire woman. The winning look will be displayed on a 50-foot billboard in New York. Joanna serves as the guest judge.

It's anything but party time when the designers get their unconventional challenge--to make chic looks out of party supplies. The designers are left scratching their heads when faced with Project Runway's first hat inspiried challenge when they must design garments influenced by the outrageous hats designed by famed British milliner, Philip Treacy, who also serves as the guest judge.

This week the designers get a once in a lifetime experience when they visit the atelier of the legendary Dapper Dan. Dap is the trailblazer who introduced high fashion to the hip-hop world by creating luxury streetwear. The designers are asked to create their own take on the future of streetwear, and are given just one day to complete the challenge and impress a fashion legend.

The designers take on the virtual world of fashion in this video game challenge. Three women breaking ground in the multi-billion dollar industry visit the runway, helping the designers understand how clothing for powerful women works in video games!  Inspired, the designers each create their own female video game protagonists with a functional and stylish look fabulous enough to earn them an extra life in the competition.

The designers are surprised with an invitation to a Brandon Maxwell photoshoot featuring none other than super model and Project Runway host, Karlie Kloss. Brandon has made a career on sophisticated, elegant creations and now the final 10 will have to impress him with their take on elegance! If the pressure wasn't high enough – the designers are faced with a flash sale challenge. America will vote on their looks and the winning look will be sold on bravotv.com!

Stylist Marni Senofonte is back, this time to challenge the designers to work in her wheelhouse: celebrity styling. The designers divide into teams to create a mini-collection for their client, Deadpool's Morena Baccarin, who is heading to Rio on vacation. Some designers collaborate while others compromise, as they race to create cohesive looks that tell a vacation fashion story. Only one designer will win, and another will go on a permanent vacation from the competition.

The designers are surprised to find their workspace decked-out in everything Elton John. They learn they'll be creating an over-the-top look inspired by the movie, Rocketman. For a project this size they'll need the help of some highly qualified assistants and are shocked to discover who they are.

The remaining seven designers dig deep in this challenge and use their skills to bring attention to a social cause they care deeply about. Judge Elaine Welteroth mentors each designer on channeling their creative voice for change, a skill she honed in her time at Teen Vogue. Just as the designers start to get comfortable creating this emotionally charged look, they're hit with a Flash Sale twist.

The designers head to the store and atelier of their mentor, Christian Siriano, for a look at what could be their future as the winner of Project Runway.  There, some surprise clients await:  the real women who keep New York City moving!  The designers are asked to create dream dresses for civic workers from the Post Office, Department of Sanitation, FDNY, NYPD and more! But they'll need to balance their own design aesthetic while delivering on their clients' dreams, otherwise this challenge could be their worst nightmare.

It's the last challenge to determine which four designers will move on to the finale; they must create their biggest and best looks as well as designing experimental art installations; with rapper Cardi B and Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo.

The remaining designers arrive at a new work space to unpack their collections and learn their final challenge. Nina Garcia meets them at the Elle Magazine offices and the designers are sent spiraling when tasked with a surprise eleventh look. In the end, only three of them will move on to compete in the finale.

Taking inspiration from the upcoming film, Cats, the designers need to tame their prints into cool street style looks that can compete on the runway and in the Flash Sale challenge.

The designers are awakened by a surprise visitor who may or may not have arrived by chimney. Tis the season for holiday parties and the designers will be challenged to show their sense of spirit in the perfect party dress. They quickly learn that this isn't a conventional holiday affair… it's the unconventional materials challenge! Channeling their own holiday memories, the designers have two days to transform a winter wonderland into a wearable wonder, and then it's up to the judges to decide who's been naughty or nice.

Mega-stylist to the stars, Karla Welch is here to guest-mentor the designers and she's got a job for them – dress her client: the one and only Karlie Kloss! Karla's got a twist though, the materials used to design the look will be donated clothing from a local Goodwill, making this Project Runway's first upcycling challenge. The designers will need to be resourceful, sustainable, and fast because it's also their first one day challenge. One designer's dreams will come true with the chance to dress a supermodel while another will be all out of second chances in this second-hand challenge.

The iconic Cyndi Lauper is both inspiration and guest judge for this totally tubular team challenge. Split into two teams, the designers must create cohesive mini-collections. They need to collaborate to pay homage to Cyndi's '80s fashion trailblazing that brought underground punk into the pop culture while still giving the looks a totally awesome modern take. Sounds pretty straight forward until Christian throws out a mid-challenge twist that changes everything.

In this week's challenge, the designers are given a chance to think about their family history and channel those stories and emotions into a look of their choosing. The stakes are high in this one day challenge, as the designers need to face and embrace who they are in order to succeed. Luckily for the designers, there's a surprise early on that will help boost their chances for success in this Flash Sale Challenge!

Collaborations between fashion designers and artists are all the rage. In this challenge, the designers get a chance to enter into one with the fashion industry's latest art darling, Ashley Longshore. Ashley's outrageous pop art, turned into one of a kind prints, gives the runway some of the boldest looks of the season.

The designers realize that the challenges only get harder the longer they survive the competition when they're faced with the hardest yet: a one-day challenge using some of the toughest textiles: sexy, sheer fabrics. This week's challenge is all about turning a timeless classic on its head: The Tuxedo. Inspired by recent fashion moments like their mentor Christian Siriano's groundbreaking Oscar look for Billy Porter, the designers will each need to find their own way to take the tuxedo into the future with a mix of male, female, and non-binary models. A perfectly tailored suit is nearly impossible without help, so the designers get a surprise second set of hands to help out.

Tie dye is back in a big way and the designers will need to create their own textiles to elevate the trend from casual to couture. In a twist that may feel more like a trick to the designers, it's an overnight challenge! The designers go a bit mad working into the wee hours trying to perfect their techniques and complete their high end looks.

Designing for a client can be tough, especially when your client is a star athlete with high expectations. In this challenge, designers are paired up with a real athlete who will be competing to be in the 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games. The designers need to make them their dream outfit for a victory night celebration, using all of their specialty skills to make the perfect proportions for their clients unique bodies, all while keeping their own point of view amongst a tough client challenge.

With only one challenge left to make it to New York Fashion Week, the remaining designers must think big to create an avant-garde look that is anything but ordinary. In a fashion first, the runway begins with a season long retrospective, outside and 16 stories high, at New York City's dramatic, Vessel. The stakes are as high as the runway, because in fashion one day you're in, and in this challenge, two will be out.

Christian visits the remaining contestants at home as they furiously complete their final collections. Then it's back to workroom to refine and revise, because even though New York Fashion is here, that doesn't mean everyone will show in the finale.

The remaining designers rush to put the final touches on their collections, balancing advice from experts while trying to not lose their own point of view. It's game, set, match when Serena Williams joins as guest judge for the final runway, with only one designer chosen as the winner.

Figure skating icons Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir steal the spotlight for this celebrity client challenge. This charismatic duo known for their savage takes and outlandish fashion have come to Project Runway for one reason – they need looks for the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics. The designers will compete in pairs and the winning looks will be worn by Tara and Johnny in front of a global audience live in primetime from the Olympics.

For the first time ever, our designers will collaborate with some of New York City's most talented accessory designers who – like our designers – are all working to revitalize the fashion industry. Bravo's Real Housewives of Potomac, Orange County and New York City bring their signature attitudes to the catwalk for a client challenge like no other. Emotions run high as each designer is paired with a Housewife to make them the ultimate reunion show look. Pop culture icon and the man who turned the housewives into a phenomenon, Andy Cohen, will be the guest judge.

It's time for a twist… a hair twist, that is! In this one day challenge, the designers are each teamed with an up-and-coming hairstylist for a head-to-toe fashion collaboration. The pairs will work together to create an innovative design and hair look that compliment each other that showcases their creativity to the judges and guest judge, model Precious Lee.

For the first time ever in Project Runway history, the designers will be creating looks for the same Supermodel in this one-of-a-kind challenge. They must create editorial looks specifically inspired by internationally renowned model, Coco Rocha. And shockingly, there's no runway! The final five are tasked to show artistic range by delivering a perfect look and a perfect photograph to show it off.

It's neither fun nor games as the designers must tackle the most feared challenge in the Project Runway canon: the unconventional materials challenge. The fur begins to fly as the all-stars are tasked with creating whimsical runway looks using toys from New York City's most iconic toy store, FAO Schwarz. alice + olivia's Stacey Bendet joins as the judges assess who's out versus who came to play.

For the first time, designers will take to the halls of an iconic New York City high school to showcase their styles - all while trying to impress '90s icon and guest judge Jennie Garth. The pressure is on, and these teams will be totally buggin'.

Breaking news: The jockstrap is back! The all-stars must create high-fashion looks featuring couture undergarments in this one-day challenge with everything: laughter, adrenaline, tears and a whole lot of skin. Fashion icons Sergio Hudson and Paulina Porizkova help separate the hot from the not.

It's the halfway point and the designers are hitting the road to a denim explosion.
