Overview
1924 Former gold miner Astakhov, who escaped during the revolution, returns to the small town of Chuisk on the border with China. He is accompanied by security officer Pashka Samsonov. Astakhov must indicate where all his gold was hidden, while he keeps 25 percent for himself and gives the rest to the state. True, few people know that in fact Astakhov came not so much for gold, but for his daughter Masha, with whom he had to part seven years ago. Astakhov shows the hiding place; the bags are stored in the vault of a former bank. However, at night the precious metal disappears without a trace!
