Overview
The story takes place in Yuhang County, Zhejiang during the late Qing Dynasty. Yang Naiwu (played by Sun Qixin), who makes a living by writing complaints for others, is attracted by the beauty of Xiao Baicai (played by Tao Huimin), who is already engaged. It happens that Xiao Baicai rents the house facing the street of the Yang family, and the two develop feelings for each other.
