
A family of Neanderthals struggle to survive the harsh conditions of the Ice Age. C." is the story of that world and of Neanderthal man as he attempts to survive that hostile enviorment. The series premieres on the ABC television network on September 7, 1974, 10:30-11 a.m.The series is a live-action production, filmed on location in remote natural areas of Southern California approximately the untouched wilderness of the world of pre-civilization. Hollywood craftsmen, under the guidance of anthropologists and archaeologists, authentically reproduced the settings and the primitive world of early man.THE STORY centers around Korg, the leader of a small clan consisting of his brother Bok, and his own immediate family, a wife and three children. Cut off from the larger clan because of an act considered offensive to the leader.
Korg and the male members of his family search for the root of a plant they believe is needed to save Ree's life when she is bitten by a snake. In "The Eclipse of the Sun," Tane and Tor meet an old man who directs them to the Valley of the Voices where the kooba root can be found. After they enter the valley, the eclipse begins and in their fright they believe the Sun God is angry with them.
