This film tells the story of recruits such as Jiang Xiaoyu (played by Yang Zhigang), Lu Yan (played by Zheng Kai), Zhang Chong (played by He Ziming) and Wu Yun (played by Liu Siyan) who were specially recruited into the Marine Corps.
