Overview
A talented but unclaimed writer, Alexei Komarov, returns to Moscow from Vorkuta, where he worked as a prospector in the northern mines. Returns to the new, cruel and destructive world of metropolitan Moscow, where power and money rule the minds, and morality and real, talented literature have long been out of value. Having met a woman along the way, equally lonely and unsuccessful in this life, he comes with her to Moscow in the hope of finding simple human happiness and the desired job. But meetings with old friends, whose new life also did not work out, useless wandering from theater shifts to literary editorial offices in the hope of understanding and support end in more and more new disappointments.
