Overview
The film is produced by Beijing Xihe Xinghui Pictures, with Chinese director Jia Zhangke serving as the producer. Five female directors from the five "BRICS" countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are invited to speak from a female perspective and shoot a short film each with the theme of "Contemporary Women's Emotions and Society". The five independent short films will be brought together into a feature film titled "Half the Sky".
