Overview
The plot of the game is set at the end of the 18th century, in the time of revival full of desire for freedom. Duke Zaháňský's new secretary, Hlasivec, is striving for the revival of the Czech language and the abolition of the robot. The duke admires the teachings of J. J. Rousseau and initially wishes for Hlasivc's efforts, but the court intrigues of the director of the estate temporarily suppress the realization of the noble intentions. Village scribes, cantors and, as their counterweight, empty courtiers also enter the plot. In the second plan, the young countess has a love affair and the bored duchess has a momentary flirtation.
