A chamber play about one of the most beautiful and wonderful love stories of the Gothic period. The play from the period after the death of Přemysl Otakar II, historically situated in Hradec nad Moravicí, depicts a love episode between Závis of Falkenštejn and the widow of Přemysl Otakar II, Kunhuta. In 1278, Přemysl Otakar II fell in the battle on the Moravian Field. Rudolf of Habsburg entrusted Bohemia to Otto of Brandenburg. Václav was imprisoned at Bezděz, from where his mother, Queen Kunhuta, managed to escape after a while. She took refuge in the Duchy of Opava, where Záviš arrives from Falkenstein. The reception is cold, and Záviš is considered a traitor, having joined Rudolph of Habsburg before the battle. The queen nevertheless accepts him and he gradually wins her favor.
