Overview
The continuation of the plots of Salamonico, the lover of life and the person, whose family members, to whom he devoted his entire life, convince him in a series of comic and tragic situations, to leave the house he built with his own hands and move to a "better" life in a new house. Allegra died, and Solomonico was widowed. Age has taken its toll and the old man is retiring. He had few comforts left in his life, and a lot of loneliness. His children are married, and some of them are financially well established. Only he was left behind, in the Thessalonica neighborhood in the south of the volume. The money-seeking younger generation gathers to decide on Salamonico's transfer to a nursing home.
