Overview
A German historical four-parter. The trumpeter's daughter Wilhelmine Enke (Anja Kruse) becomes the mistress of Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm II (Rainer Hunold), the successor to Frederick the Great (Herbert Stass). The fact that the beautiful Wilhelmine is a commoner makes the love between her and the fat Wilhelm a problem. So Friedrich Wilhelm married her to a valet and kept her close to him. He later raises her to the nobility and makes her Countess Lichtenau. After his death, she is tried for treason, but unsuccessfully. She spends her twilight years in a small house near Berlin.
