Overview
In September 1943, German Lieutenant Robert Wissmann secretly went ashore in the neutral Republic of Ireland to seek help for his damaged submarine. There he meets the young widow Maureen Backett, whose husband was shot down by the Germans as a US Air Force pilot. She helps him when the police search for him, but the budding love between them does not find fulfillment.
