Overview
A poor shepherd, the old man Chronis, and his daughter Lenio are subservient to the arch-shepherd Costas Davaris. Lenio is in love with a poor young man, Dimos, and together they dream about the future. When the archcheliga's son, Dimitros, returns to his homeland, he seduces Lenio, but breaks his promise to marry her and even intends to make the daughter of the archcheliga of the neighboring village his wife. But, on the day of the wedding, Dimitros is murdered. Before he cools down, he chants Lenios' name and Dimos, in order to save his beloved, takes responsibility for the murder. After a year, the bandit Karafotias is mortally wounded and before dying he confesses to the murder of Dimitros. Dimos is released from prison and joins Lenio forever.
