Overview
The center of the film is young Lydia Koidula, who comes to the countryside in search of peace and creative silence, but suddenly finds herself in the whirlwind of village life, where there is a struggle for love, land and honesty. Maie, the most beautiful flower of the village, repels the attempts of the local sly head Erastu Ennu and instead hopes to become the wife of the honest and straightforward Märdi from Mulgiland. Maie's father Peeter, whose farm was once bought from under the nose by the cunning of the mulks, but does not tolerate the mulks and does not want to allow his daughter to Märdi. Lydia soon finds herself in the middle of a love affair that eventually involves her own lovers.
