Overview
Pietro Leandri, promised to Laura, meets Luisa, a model, and a passionate love is born between the two. Luisa is protected by Antonio Berti, a banker in love with her, who plots a deception to eliminate Pietro. Berti sends an anonymous letter to Laura to reveal the relationship between Pietro and Luisa, also making her believe that Luisa is his lover. Pietro, seeing Berti's carriage in front of Luisa's house, is convinced of the betrayal and returns to Laura, marrying her. During the First World War, Pietro and Luisa separated. Years later, Pietro discovers that Luisa has become a diva and Berti's lover. Having cleared up the misunderstanding, the two decide to say goodbye, despite the love that still binds them. Berti, mad with jealousy, kills Luisa, who dies in Pietro's arms.
