Overview
The young convict Dan is visited in prison by Mrs. Švehlová. But Dan refuses to talk to her. He remembers how they met: after the death of his grandmother, he had to move out of her apartment, and the grandmother's acquaintance Švehlová let him live with her for a while, even though she knew that he had already been in prison once for theft. Dan was not used to being treated well and treated her rudely. Later he moved to a bachelor's house and found a girl. He tried to live honestly, but everywhere he encountered mistrust, prejudice and suspicion. He got into a fight with his roommate, who falsely accused him of theft, and was subsequently arrested while visiting Švehlová. Disappointed, Dan accused Švehlova that she betrayed him...
