Overview
A film set in a time when the aftermath of party strife was severe. Jeong Pan-seo tries to exterminate Kim Pan-seo's family out of spite in order to resolve the grudge he had for his predecessors. Kim Pan-seo refuses to escape, saying he has done nothing wrong, but is eventually caught by Jeong Pan-seo and killed. Kim Pan-seo's wife and his only daughter, Guseul-agi, take refuge in the mountains with the help of the loyal Park Oh-wijang. However, Jeong Pan-seo's pursuit extends all the way to the mountains, and his sick mother dies due to an attack by Jeong Pan-seo's subordinates. Gusul-agi, with a sword of revenge, disguises himself as a man and becomes a servant at Jeong Pan-seo's house. Gusul-agi takes on the alias Tteok-soe and serves Jeong Pan-seo's only son, Jeong Do-ryeong. Jeong Do-ryeong, who hates his greedy father, becomes close to Tteok-soe by teaching him how to read. Even though he feels remorse for deceiving Jeong Do-ryeong, who was good to him, Gusul-agi cannot stop seeking revenge. The bead baby is poisoned by Jeong Pan-seo's food, but Jeong Pan-seo becomes suspicious and dips his silver chopsticks into it. Jeong Do-ryeong defends Gusul-agi, who is under suspicion. Gulbaby gradually falls in love with Jeong Do-ryeong and, unable to bear herself for loving the son of her enemy, secretly runs away from Jeong Pan-seo's house, but is caught by Jeong Do-ryeong and is revealed to be a woman. Jeong Do-ryeong blames Gusulbaby for deceiving him, but he learns that he is already in love with Gusulbaby. The two run away from Jeong Pan-seo, who is trying to catch Gusulbaby, but Gusulbaby is caught. On the day of Gusulbaby's execution, Chief Park O-wi rescues Gusulbaby and runs away with Jeong Do-ryeong. Pan-seo Jeong chases Gusul Baby and Jeong Do-ryeong, and Captain Park Oh chases Pan-seo Jeong. In the end, Jeong Pan-seo dies when his carriage rolls over due to Park O-wi's attack.
