Overview
Comedy inspired by motifs known from books and the life experiences of the writer Jaroslav Hašek. One day, at the instigation of the publisher Peclínek, a select company gathered at his place: the editor Vzpurný, the police director, Mr. Mayer and the traveler Kantor. The purpose of the meeting was to establish a kind of society for the protection of Jaroslav Hašek and thus enable this gifted author to finally write a great Czech novel while concentrating on his work. To this end, everyone present pledged to help with their part - the police council turns a blind eye to the master's misdeeds, Mr. Mayer accepts his son-in-law Hašek back into the family, editor Vzpurný pays him an advance for his next job. The agreement is valid, but Hašek is a free-spirited solitaire and cannot be bound even by family ties...
